Hey Flock! I have a big issue... My 5 week old Light Brahma Pullet has become extremely aggressive this week... Not just with the other chicks, but with me too! I stick my hand in the cage and she runs up and attacks me like a rooster, and chest-bumps me! I'm not sure what to do to correct this behavior, but I don't want people aggressive birds in my flock!!! They are my pets, and these chicks have been snuggled daily since I got them at a couple days old! Please help! Culling is not something I'm willing to do....She is my Magnolia (Maggie) baby:hit. I will not be able to respond until after 12:00, because I will be gone.

I would use the poke method and poke her on the back between the shoulders (like you are pecking her) whenever she challenges you or other chicks. I had to knock one of my buff silkies down a few notches this way last year around the same age and it only took a day or so to fix the problem.

Peck her back or pin her down. Generally aggression at that age means they need more room and things to do to burn off excess energy.
Thanks.. they are in the biggest indoor kennel you can buy (I think) we used to have 2 great Danes, and this is Kiba's kennel. They also have a jungle gym of roosting bars they play on... It would surprise me if space was the issue:confused:
Are you sure she is not a he?
Well... It was a sexed pullet, so no.

Culling doesn't have to be killing.

It just means eliminating from your flock. It can mean re homing. ;)

I agree with other suggestions though, and would try that. :fl
Thanks, I knew that.. but I would feel bad sticking her (or possibly him:rolleyes:) on someone else with this aggression... She would be killed by the new owner around here.

It's not always about space. It's more to do with them becoming mentally bored. Every 2 weeks chicks are ready for something or somewhere new. I generally start taking my chicks outside by 2 weeks. By 4-6 weeks mine are out to the shed.
