Extremely concerned about my niece!

Great to hear that she's in good spirits! I'll keep her in my prayers.

I had an idea (since you ARE the hired entertainment...). that would be fun for all of you. "The Elf on the Shelf," which is a book and elf set. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Elf-on-the-Shelf/Carol-V-Aebersold/e/9780976990703

My kids always get a visit from our Elf on the Shelf" this time of year. He comes back from the North Pole to our house Thanksgiving night. He came to us last year for the first time, which is when he got his name (Eddie). Every night he flies back to the North Pole and tells Santa what went on in our house that day and he pays very close attention to the "Naughty" and "Nice" activities of my two girls. Sometimes he brings a note from Santa and sometimes he brings little gifts (like snowglobes with their photo in it, etc.). Every morning he shows up in a different place in the house and they have to find him (he could easily be moved around the hospital room in plain sight).
This is where Eddie was one morning this week:

It's a lovely tradition and would be something for her to look forward to every day (I'm sure the nurses would help you "hide" him.). He's pretty good company too.

Just a thought.

Sending well wishes to you and prayers for all of her caretakers to find out what is going on.

Entertainment is under way at the moment. Memaw is playing Operation with her. I brought Play Doh, as it is her favorite other than the smilies on here she likes to play with

I just had both of my kids in the hospital, both had really high counts too and had stomach pain around the navel, I am nowhere near you as you can see, both had fevers of 103 or a bit higher, and fever reducing meds did nothing to bring it down, neither would eat and getting them to drink was like pulling teeth. the doc said it was obvious to him it was viral but they couldn't pin point what it was, then as sudden as it came it seemed to go away, but the following night came right back with a vengeance, both kids were quickly put on antibiotics and were better within 2 days. I still haven't heard anything from the hospital labs who took samples to test. Maybe next week, who knows, but at least they are both feeling better.

I hope your little niece Hannah is feeling better by now and if not I hope she gets better real soon.

Oh Ema, I hope your babies are better!! Niece is feeling better enough to aggravate now, she is pestering my son-in-law and loving having someone here to aggravate
lol.png
Her nurses are taking good care of her, and she is beginning to eat again. she takes just a few bites here and there, but it's enough for now, and a definate improvement!

that is very good news, my kiddos are good, for a bit there though they couldn't keep anything down not even water :-S and I had to have my vehicle detailed too...DD didn't quite make it out of the van on our way to the hospital,

I thought Dh was going to lose his cookies too after seeing her get sick right in front of him

She has a urinary tract infection.

Dunno why they didn't find that at the Drs office...she is prone to them. Her white cell count is down to 15000, and she is on antibiotics to treat the infection. THANK GOD it is something simple though!

ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME???????? I would go running, screaming (with my antibiotics) from that hospital. They should've ruled that out within the first 10 minutes after having received the bloodwork and patient history. What the heck?!

Glad it's something easily treated.

That is the same hospital that when I was much younger my friend committed suicide via a gunshot to his temple, and they could not find the bullet and did not believe he had been shot......state health care only allows for her to go to THAT hospital at the moment. I am a bit upset about it, but what can you do when the government runs the show? If I'd had my choice she would have gone to a different hospital.
