EXTREMELY INJURED HEN: Please Help!!!

Ok. I don't have neopsorin. I have betadine solution that I can clean the wounds with though. I also have hibatane (for horses) and Vetranus Derma-Gel. Will any of this work?
I also have polysporin.
I will try feeding her some electrolytes and scrambled eggs. I have a dropper for the electrolytes like the one shown.

The polysporin will work fine, just keep it out of direct contact with the eye.

Talk to her. Check in with her. Play soothing music in the background. Tell her you love her.

Drench her with a vitamins and electrolytes solution. Clean and inspect the wounds. If you don't have blue kote, use neosporin WITHOUT PAIN RELIEF. The pain relief kind can make things worse or kill her.
Keep her away from flys! And the population. Set up a hospital pen in a dog kennel maybe.
Electrolytes will help a lot.

Ok thank you. I cleaned her wounds with a weak Betadine solution, then put some polysporin on it. While I was cleaning her wounds, she opened her injured eye. It looks like they might have actually bite off half of or all of her eye. The eye socket seems to just be filled with yellow goo. She really perked up after I cleaned her up. She has some black goo in her left ear (the same side as injured eye) I think it could be infected but the black stuff could also just be dried blood. She is eating and drinking again and has dranken some electrolyte water. She is in a warm dog crate with some bedding. The only other thing that really needs to be done is she needs something to go in that injured eye. I could buy some eye drops from the drug store? Would that help?

Hmmmm.. Not the same, but my cousin had a bit of his eye scraped off by a fingernail.... They went to the hospital and the doctor said it woule heal its self. Eye drops are meant for cleaning of the eye, I would think they would help.

Blukote is not for deep wounds. It's best for covering up a healing wound so it doesn't get pecked. Your best best is any kind of triple antibiotic w/o pain relief. If you haven't already, you can clean the wounds with a saline solution. Terramycin or Vetericyn opthalmic is good for the eye treatment. Let her rest as she's most likely in shock. If you can't get her to a vet (most of us can't) perhaps you can get some water soluble antibiotic from a vet if it looks like infection. It's been mentioned that she looks like there's some type of infection going on already-whether it's viral or bacterial no way to really know w/o a vet exam. If she's not eating and drinking tomorrow, you will want to tube feed her so she doesn't have the added problems of dehydration and starvation. Once they start going downhill it can be hard to bring them back. There's an excellent article on her about tube feeding and I recommend you read up on it just in case you need to go that route. Electrolytes, probiotics and water are important right now. Another option for wound treatment is manuka honey. It seems many studies have shown it to have amazing healing and antibacterial properties. You will want to keep her inside until her wounds are well scabbed over so flies don't lay eggs in them because the last thing you want is flystrike on top of everything else. You might also want to pick up some Poly Vi Sol without iron to supplement with, especially since if she's inside for several weeks she could get low on vit D. You can find it at Walgreen's, CVS or Amazon. Please keep us updated on her.
