One of my leghorn hens has a problem with her eye, she holds it shut often and blinks very frequently, when the eye is open she doesn't open it all the way. The eye is a different color than the normal eye. Her normal eye color is a hazel/greenish brown color but the afflicted eye is dark brown with a reddish ring on the outside of the iris. This started about 3 weeks ago but she hasn't acted any differently than normal. Anyone know what this could be?

Could you post a picture of the eye? Does she seem to be able to around her. There are many possible for an eye causes or a problem. Vitamin A or E deficiency, avian encephalomyelitis, Mareks disease, infections or injuries, and cataracts can cause blindness in chickens. Using an antibiotic ointment twice a day in the eye, and looking for any foreign bodies would be good.
