Eerie nodded. “Take them deeper in the burrows than you normally would.” She whispered. “I don’t know what this is gonna go.”
She turned back to face Blaze.

Blaze growled in frustration and anger. "Since when is a PULLET, your second leader?" He bellowed at the alarmed and terrified flock.

Snowberry had been snacking on some wild violets with his mate, Petal, and their daughter, Bark, when he heard the alarm calls. He immediately set off full speed for his flock with petal at his heels.

"Since when are you aloud to hurt hens!" Toad screeched.

Blaze growled in frustration and anger. "Since when is a PULLET, your second leader?" He bellowed at the alarmed and terrified flock.

“Oh, I am not our second leader, though I do carry some rank. But seeing as the rest of my flock is so alarmed by your presence that they cannot find their words, I speak for them. Also, since you’ve made it a habit to question me, stranger, here’s one for you: why on earth is my dear friend Jay bleeding?”

Blaze ripped his glare from Eerie to Toad. His son looked like his mother. A excuse. Blaze's hackle's rose and he felt his spurs stiffen.

“Oh, I am not our second leader, though I do carry some rank. But seeing as the rest of my flock is so alarmed by your presence that they cannot find their words, I speak for them. Also, since you’ve made it a habit to question me, stranger, here’s one for you: why on earth is my dear friend Jay bleeding?”

Eerie huffed. He could beat her up; she didn’t care. But he was on their land and he was gonna play by their rules. Plus, it wouldn’t look good on him to strike a hen. Especially the hen who was 5th in rank (not counting roosters) she thought with satisfaction.
