Eerie scrabbled over the bloodied ground to Toad. She choked back a sob when she saw that nearly a third of Toad’s wattle had been torn off. She ran and grabbed the moss ball they had been playing with before everything went wrong. She pressed it to the heavily bleeding wattle and it soaked up the blood well.Toad lay gasping on the cold ground of the clearing, he felt blood pooling around him.
“No.” Snowberry snarled. “He who thinks death is the gravest of punishment knows nothing of what it is to suffer. You challenged my flock on our own soil before I had even gotten here. You have broken laws, Blaze, and nearly killed a good young cockerel. You will be punished.”"Do it." Blaze whispered.
Toad looked up into Eerie's ice blue eyes and whispered, "You are the most loveliest, most bravest hen I have ever laid eyes on."Eerie scrabbled over the bloodied ground to Toad. “Toad,” she whispered, trying to choke back her wail of sorrow. “Toad, I’m so sorry. This is all my fault. If I hadn’t provoked him- If I hadn’t challenged him..” her voiced trailed off. “I’m sorry. Now you’re hurt because of me.”Eerie scrabbled over the bloodied ground to Toad. She choked back a sob when she saw that nearly a third of Toad’s wattle had been torn off. "Calm down, i'm not dying." He tried to chuckle, but it hurt to much. "I love you."“Toad,” she whispered, trying to choke back her wail of sorrow. “Toad, I’m so sorry. This is all my fault. If I hadn’t provoked him- If I hadn’t challenged him..” her voiced trailed off.
Thoroughly unnerved, Snowberry ordered his strongest hens to drag Blaze into one of the burrow-holes and had two cockerels guard the entrance. He turned back to Toad, but Eerie was crouched next to him tending to his wounds, so he left them be.Blaze looked into Snowberry's deep fierce eyes and whispered, "You have know idea." And with that he slipped into unconsciousness.
“I know you’re not dying, you moron.” She whispered. “You think I’d let you?”"Calm down, i'm not dying." He tried to chuckle, but it hurt to much. "I love you."
Toad looked up into her eyes once more, till there was darkness. (He slipped into unconsciousness.)“I know you’re not dying, you moron.” She whispered. “You think I’d let you?”
“I love you too.”
