“I-I-egg..” cried Fern, her legs suddenly giving out. “Eerie…knows medicine. Get Eerie.” She said, eyes glazing in pain.

“I told him about what my life was like before Dawnflock. But he seemed like he cared. He was all nice to me. And then he left me a note. And I hate him now.”
She shook herself.
“Well, maybe I dodged a viper. Maybe he’s a terrible rooster anyways.”

Toad walked over to Eerie's burrow, maybe something just scared her, he thought hopefully. But when he entered her burrow and looked at the ground, he knew he had gotten his hopes up.

Toad's head snapped up when he hear the shrieks of pain and alarm coming from the clearing.

"Somebody get Eerie!!" She yelled out to everyone. "Come on Fern. Let me lead you to your nest." She said kindly, putting her wing over Fern's body and leading her back to her burrow.

Coal ran to Eerie, but couldn't find her. He ran back. "Do you know where she is?", he asked, out of breath.
