Duck was mesmerized by her bright gold depths. Her silver feathers captured the shadows perfectly, explaining her name.

River scrambled up to Moon and Duck, almost reaching them before she tripped and hit her fuzzy little head on the ground. Moon rushed over to her sister, nuzzling her and helping her stand back up.

Sparrow ran out of her burrow, her hackles up, her spurs stiff, and confronted Duck in front of Fern's burrow.

Eerie screamed in pain, but it was over as quick as it came. The egg plopped into the nest silently, and she collapsed inn top of it, panting.

Moon hesitated, then peeped out, “bYE!”

Duck looked over his shoulder and murmured, "I know." Then started walking again when he was suddenly stopped by an angry mother.
