Milo dove out of his den like a golden red fish down a river. He had spent a good part of the afternoon carefully preening his feathers, cleaning his claws and beak.
It had been a while since he had done it so thoroughly and well, no, that wasn't the reason but it was a good excuse. Eitherway, he thought, he was looking exceptionally handsome today.

Xene flew down to the stream, and with the splash of water, she stood in it and began to take large sips of the cold and icy liquid.

Milo landed several feet to the side of her, his long striped ears pricked, "Ellooo.... I don't believe we've met? Or at least not in this dimension, there are many you know.. An infinite number! But then again that isn't important at the moment" his voice turned into a half mumble as he realized he was rambling.

Her blue rimmed eyes melted into the cool waters, as her lightly water dappled fur and feathers seemed to bounce off the falling sun. The exotic allure of this gryphon was so breathtaking, she looked almost unreal. Like a statue, Xene stood very still and let nature enhance her beauty.
