The next evening, Horus had become better; only marginally so, but better was better and he would take it. He stirred awake from a long nap and wheezed, but was relieved to see that he was no longer coughing up sparse showers of blood. He shook his head in attempt to clear the dizzy, light-headed sensation.
Ember attentively waited by him the entire time, his tail waggling rapidly when he saw Horus awake. He tottered over to lick Horus on his feverish forehead. "Do you feel better, mister horse?"
