His neck started to go numb, and it crept slowly across his body.

She shook pebbles and dirt off, snatched the hatchling up and flew hastily to the top of the mountain, her injured wings making it difficult. She dug a hole under a boulder and tucked the hatchling in it, concealing it.

He ripped the infected flesh from his own neck and flew up the mountain. He landed on the boulder and it toppled onto the hatchling

She socked him, right in the face, and rolled the boulder off. She held the hatchling and flew away. She had no destination; just away from here.
