She looked back at him with her expressive blue rimmed black eyes, surronded with creamy orange feathers. The tip of the gryphon's tail which was resting down on the earth's surface before, sprung quickly upwards as she noticed she was being watched. Shyly, she said nothing and waited for Heros to respond.
Heros approached her rather gingerly, dipping his head politely in greeting. "You must be new around these parts," said the handsome white Gryphon as he bent down to the river for a drink, "I am Heros."
Chara's tail slipped from the branch and she fell with a loud, "Ahhh! Look out!" she called out, the little soldier-in-training nearly landing onto the Gryphon. She lay on her chin with her tail and her hind feet dangling over her head, "Ow..."
Apollo saw the new Gryphon and thought he'd seen the most beautiful Gryphon in his entire life; he felt his feet mindlessly fall forward but kept his cool as he casually dawdled to the river where the others were.
Just as she was going to respond to Heros, she bent down to observe Chara. "You okay little one?" she said in a friendly tone, while helping her back up.
"Hello Heros," the gryphon began, focusing her eyes back at him. "You may call me Xene. Like you guessed, I am new to these parts. I was living in a land far south of here, where fruit grows like weeds and the humidity literally sticks right to your feathers. Two-legs around the place liked to call it Floresta Amazônica."
