Face is swollen, oozing, and smelly. Rampant infection? *pg 2 new pics

I just worry that stuff won't solve the problem. It provides relief from pain but I don't think it will help with wherever the infection is coming from. I wish I knew where the infection was coming from!

I don't have tsc but I plan on going to our feed store tomorrow to clean out their first aid section, so I'll be on the lookout for something for his eyes.

I hope Petey does not have infectious coryza, but it does sound like it, especially the odor from the head. Has he had any contact with outside birds? In otherwords, chickens not from your flock? If he has that, it is very contagious. I sure hope that is not what he has.

I'm pretty sure what is going on is from the attack. I found a puncture wound above the eye that went bad first. I'll post a recent picture

You can also use the triple antibiotic ointment from Wal-mart as long as it does not have the pain relievers in them. I would use a regular eye solution, not one with a disinfectant in it, it will set his poor little eyes on fire. You can also put one drop of Tylan50 directly into each eye.

Okay just looked up coryza and got absolutely sick to my stomach. It does sound like his symptoms. Only thing are that he is not sneezing and he is swollen all around the eye, not just above. We did just get a new little chook from a breeder who has many many birds. Oh man I do not like this. What if the attack weekened his immune system and now he is showing the symptoms? I don't know. The rest of the flock is healthy and fine. It just seems like it would be a huge coincidence if this popped up the day that he is attacked by a coon. Ugh, I won't be sleeping tonight. I just remembered that I have seen him sneeze a few times.

Anyway here are some close up pics o his face. The eyes haven't really been crusting over but I have been cleaning them often. He keeps his eyes shut but when I open the lids the white liquid rushes out. After I clean them up he can open the left eye and see out of it for a little while. The nasal discharge is pretty minor.

Oh god
I'm freaking out now.

Here's the pic of the bad side of his face. I think there's a small puncture above the eye. You be the judge. Next photo is of the good side of his face. He can see out of that eye after Cleanings only.

Sorry, I did not want to freak you out, but if he has it, you need to be careful not to infect your other birds. I think if he has made it this far, he will live.Seems like his color is better. You are doing a good job.
