Hello there! I am new to posting on BYC but I always look whenever my birds have problems.
Recently I had noticed some kind of flea/mite on my birds faces. It was the chickens at first. I researched it a bit but all I could find was put Vaseline on their faces. Which I did. It seemed to help for a time but now a few days ago one of my young peafowl manage to catch these mites. They are all over her face. Here are some pictures. I am sorry I took these with my phone I hope you can tell.
Could any one tell me what to do for these mites besides Vaseline? Are there any other treatments?
All of my birds are free range besides the peafowl you see in the photo. She is staying in a large outside cage until she is big enough to roam with the others. None of the other peafowl have these mites only the chickens and this one. ):
Thank you in advanced!
