Texas Ranger, rhe araucana I hatched from Colt, is getting bigger. Hoping to get chicks from him next year

Also, I ended up with two surprise cockerels! Late blooming Ameraucana in Lavender and Black. The lavender has better feather quality than the current male I have so might be selling Indy at some point. Not sure Ill keep the black either.

It’s okay. Mine aren’t exactly “perfect” either but I’m doing my best.

I’m planning to split them into 2 separate groups next year…I’ll have BB with his own set of girls and Colt’s chocolate Orp cockerel “Coconut” separated in a different group.

I have one hen who’s still acting broody even though she’s not sitting on any eggs. I think I might just bring her out to the country so she snaps out of it.

I am officially done hatching eggs for the season since it’s starting to cool off here.

How’s everyone else doing?

I just hatched 9 a week ago (birthday eggs) white and chocolate, and dahlia has decided to go broody again, still debating that situation

Not usually. None of mine have floppy combs. They’re all straight.

That's going to make my decision on witch of the 3 cockerels I have from Cackle Ill be keeping then. Two of them the combs are flopping over in the back end of the comb.
