Maybe a joyful facade comes organically as a coping mechanism. When all else fails, it can be a comfort to be perceived as not failing the happiness test.
I would rather people do w/e they have to do in order to get on with their lives.
As a service industry member, I have certainly employed a “fake it til I make” approach to be the happy server people want to order a steak from. Sometimes I had to screw a smile on. And, I admit after doing so, I did mostly feel better. It’s just physiology.
Maybe people are trying to create the world they wish to see and are just bumbling around being humans who don’t know what they’re doing.
Things have just been crazy. And people are up to the goofiest stuff I have seen in my life. Some of it’s hilarious, some of it’s inexplicable, some of it’s tragic.
All of it is human.
