Fall Bi-Annual Carolina Poultry Party ~ Aug 6th at Irmo Tractor Supply

I have seen the splash silkies Susanne has and they are beautiful! Lou Ann and I will have fun seeing all of the different breeds. Since we are just starting out and getting the hang of this, I think we can resist the chicken math this time (they are at her house so she will make sure I behave). Next year may be another story all together!

Jack,

Do you remember Gary Ramey in Salley...near Aiken? I went to his place yesterday and bought his BLRW flock (originally chicks from Paul's Poultry & Foley lines. So I hope to bring some hatching eggs from these birds Saturday.

He also mentioned the swap, I was like, yeah I'm helping put that together. LOL He said he may come up there to it, but hasn't decided for sure yet. Just wanted to pass that along.

i know gary he is the one that i got my wheaton blue wheaton ameruacanas from. and i also got his breeder blue, black. and splash ameruacanas from gary. they are about 3 yr. old birds but i can hatch my replacement breeders from them. i dont normaly keep a chicken after they turn 2 yrs. old. i dont have a chicken on my place that is over 1.5 yrs old.

I forgot to check that pen for silkies and sizzles but I plan to bring them to the swap. I also have a gorgeous blue splash silkie that is looking like a pullet. I was gonna keep her but I think I will bring her for the contest and if the price is right I may let her go.

I also have 4 Swedish Blue Ducks that I need to sale. 3 Blues and 1 lavender. I studied them this weekend and I'm pretty sure I have a drake and 3 hens but I'm no duck expert.

Does anyone need a Large Fowl Cochin roo? I have a few 5 month olds in B/B/S and one Buff that is looking great although, there is a chance he might be a buff/ gold laced mix. I also have a couple of Mille Fleur D'uccle Trios if anyone is interested. They hatched June 26 and are the sweetest birds!

Just so I am clear: This is scheduled for what time? I won't have anything to trade. Just plan on looking at all the poultry. Our fall project is building a coup for spring chicks. This will give us up close view. Not to mention meeting all our SC chicken owners.

I thought I read it started at 9. Glad I saw this or we would have been early. I'm thinking it was on the SC board I saw it. I'm going to go and check now. Could also be my age catching up with me!
