Well ladies I went to Joann's today and spent the best $15 I have spent in a long time. I got a omi grid ruler that was 12 1/2 inches square. Came home squared up all kinds of blocks (just love how fast and easy it went).
Sooooooooooo my fall blocks are done and I hope to get to the PO tomorrow to mail them off.
Now I just need to get those eyes and legs on those BYCvillie chickens. If I don't get that done soon I am going to send the buggers with out them LOL.
My machine is being a pain and the repair guy is not opening up shop and who knows when he will. Man I hate shops that don't keep the hours they have posted on the door, or at least leave a note saying when your regular hours will start again.
Good news is my sister and I are going to go to 3 quilt stores on Friday. My son has to go out of town for his ankle and so that means we can spend time at 2 shops we have never been at and one shop that I always leave broke at LOL. I have to stash lunch money or he will starve before we get home. I figure $4 for toco bell LOL just kidding.
I have one of those too and it is great. I love the diagonal line on mine.
Having the black grid on one side for light fabrics and the yellow grid on the reverse for dark fabrics sure helps also.
I have found that purchasing the large triangle, the 3 inch wide ruler, the 6 inch ruler, and the 6 inch square have improved my accuracy rate significantly!!!
I have the 3 foot cutting matt on my table and the 12 x 18 matt on my sewing machine.
I think I might have to end up with a rotary cutter and mat and be very careful using it..I could cut those dresden circle pieces in a flash with that instead of hours!! Yep, going on my list of sewing must haves!!
I love my rotary cutter. I hate paper piecing. It's almost like a phobia. I tried it. It came out nice. I hated it. I won't even look at PP patterns. I hate sewing in zippers too (another phobia). I don't know why. Like I said, it's like a wierd phobia.

Haha!! Templates!! I don't need no stinkin' templates!! I usually strip piece or freehand. I only used templates once, and that was for a fan quilt.
