Thank you everybody, and Tim, for the suggestion. The colors look a little "washed-out" to me in the picture. I think in the actual block, that the colors are a little stronger than they appear in my photo.

And yes, Kassaundra, the colors are more restful. I LOVE the vibrancy of the fall colors with the reds, oranges and yellows but I also love the understated browns (like an oak tree gives) to go with the brighter yellows. Fall, in general, soothes me and makes me feel restful so that's why I chose these colors.
Fall would be my favorite season if it weren't directly followed by winter.

Colors are really hard to tell on the pic on the computer, there is variation in how the camera saw the color and how everyone's monitor is set up.

Why do you think I'm going to Alabama. 80* and no snow.

Here are my 3rd and 4th squares (they still need to be blocked). The colors are a bit washed out in the pics.

Just finished this one tonight but I think I might try something different with the colors on the next one. Colors for this block were Red Heart - Carrot, Medium Thyme, Aran & (WL) Chocolate. The flash made the colors look way brighter than they are.

Really like the cool spiraling effect. We've added more food carrots and thyme! lol

All these squares are beautiful.

It looks like we've added carrot and thyme to our recipe.

I'm going to southern California next week, where the temperatures will be in the 80's and 90's. I'm looking forward to being warm.

Seventeen squares are constructed, but most still need to be de-tailed. I wanted to get a jump on this because of my trip, and the jump turned into a leap. I'll make a few more to get it to afghan size (12"squares are 4X the size of 6" squares, so it won't take much), then send the ones I think y'all might like best.
