I say the blocks you have already done are perfect. They are beautiful as they are and I would love to have one for my blanket.

I was wondering. Kassaundra said something a while back that's had me thinking about my blocks. Apparently there is some concern that blocks which are not predominantly orange and brown will not fit in with those that are. No problem there.

What I'm wondering is this... if I had a ring of leaves in those fall colors, would that make the issue go away? I don't want to send in the only blocks that will not be used in the afghans. Don't worry, this will not hurt my feelings. I totally understand. I've been looking at my blocks with that concern since I started. If I need to do different blocks, I can do that after this next payday and my daughter already wants the existing blocks.

So, folks, please let me know.

This is a picture of the leaf ring I'm talking about. If I do a ring of leaves, like this, in autumn oranges, etc., would that make my existing blocks better suited?

I went back and looked at all the posted pics before answering this question. First let me say I like your blocks a lot. Second we have only seen a small percent of the blocks that are being done. Third look at those that have been posted mainegigi, kreativekat, oh I knew I should have written those names down and two others

have blocks that have noticeable light tan, ecru, off white in the blocks. I personally think they would serve as a transition into your more calmly colored blocks. When it boils right down to it I am absolutely fine w/ your blocks and will be proud to have one in my finished afghan as it is, but whatever YOU are comfortable with. I want this to be fun for everyone, so whatever you are comfortable with will be fine. I do like the 'laurell wreath" it is cute.

Oh and meant to say your blocks remind me of a frosty fall morning.

I scoured El Paso, Hobby Lobby here doesn't even carry that particular brand of Red Heart, and won't order it,,, Wal Mart has that brand but not Chocolate, so now I order and hope to get it in time to finish my squares. Who would have thought it would be so hard to find! Michaels doesn't have it either, neither did Joannes,, it's just not carried here.

Ok, for some reason, I can't put a reply on the thread. Hopefully it will have straightened itself out tomorrow. Anyway, I thought I would send it to you and you can let everybody know... thanks. Thank you for your kind words regarding my blocks. I think though, that I will add a little bit of the autumn blend yarn to each block... maybe something different on each one. I have 15 done tonight. Three more to go! Then I'll figure out what to add to them. This has been fun and I look forward to the next one. Hopefully I'll have these in the mail in about a week or so.

I'm back from my trip and just looked through a week and a half's worth of posts. You all have made excellent squares. I like them all.

I haven't looked at my squares yet. The plan is to keep making them until late November, since 18 will not be enough for an afghan. Then, I'll send in the 18 I like most.

I totally related to the chickens' sunbathing, but worried they were having seizures the first time I saw a dirt bath.

Two trees to go, then all I will have left to do is securing and trimming tails!!!!!

Let me know if you still have trouble finding it. I found it at my local (sort of) Joannes and I can easily pick some up and mail it to you.

This square is beautiful! I'm looking forward to see everyone's color/pattern choices and I LOVE that it will be diverse. That's what will make the blanket so special.
