Just recieve WOW's squares, very pretty use of colors. Some really pretty oranges.

That leaves two to go, we are on the home stretch now.

Here is a pic of WOW colorful grannies.

She has some very nice color combos on her grannies, even better then the pic shows.

Well there are 17 swappers and I am not in the running for the owl block since I plagerized and made one myself.

so it looks like a 1 in 16 chance. My first few attempts looked like a bat, bear, and furby, but my last one was passable.
I don't have honest instructions but can tell you generally how I did it.

I made a circle of 10 single crochets, then on the next round put 2 singles in each one for a total of 20 single crochets circle out of a light yellow/brown color (belly).

I then took a white yarn (eyes) and did 4 chains, went back into the 2nd chain from the hook and in the same chain did a single, 2 half doubles and another single, then slip stitched the next chain, then in the 4th (end) chain did a single and 4 half doubles and and other single that rounded me down to the bottom side of the original chain, did another slip stitch in the same chain I had slip stitched on the top side (the pinched spot between the eyes) then in the same chain I had put all the stitches in I put 1 single, 2 half doubles and andother single then joined it and tied it off, you should have two circles making a figure 8 looking piece for the eyes.

I placed the eyes over the light circle where I wanted them to be, then crocheted half doubles in the round circle two in each stitch, and catching the back yarn of the eyes to secure them when you get back to where you joined the eyes a single stitch, then next stitch 3 half doubles, then the next stitch single crochet, then slip stitches until you get to the same spot on the opposite side of the head and in the 3 stitches make another ear tie off, then it's just a little embroidry work for the eyes, beak, and feet.

Sorry if the instructions aren't very clear, hopefully kreativekat will have real ones to post.
Seventeen? I sent in eighteen squares. Oh well. I trust you will distribute extras as is good.

We started w/ 18, bhazell has made no communication w/ me even w/ repeated attempts, and she hasn't been on byc since 9-30 so I'm assuming she is no longer participating. I planned on returing 2 of each persons blocks to them instead of the one.

Or instead of us getting back 2 of our own, would it be ok to swap around one of the extras so we get 2 of someone else's?? Just a thought :)

Whatever works out is fine with me - I think it's great you took on the chore of coordinating this. Thank you so much again!

I agree, just set the boxes 20 feet away and fling the extras! LOL!! That is what one student suggested. They are excited to get these back, they have discovered the Granny this year!

I like that. I'm happy with random distribution. We might get our own back. We might get someone else's. The flinging method sounds like fun. I'd shuffle them like a deck of cards and deal them. That being said, if Kassaundra is happy sending back our own extras, I'm happy with that, too.

I'm good with either way, well I may be just a tad to OC for the fling method.
