Writer-Will the club post an official thread for the geometric shapes swap? I went through my yarn yesterday and put some aside for it.

Ok I've been back ten pagers trying to find out what this is about and can't. Is there a private club off the BYC track?

On another note Sebocat, I'm sorry you had to make a hard decision but glad you were strong enough to make it. Your a good person.

So off topic but I am happy to say the little heifer calves i nursed back to health went to a new home today(together)! They will eventually be used for beef but i was assured and feel confident that they will be well cared for until then. 10+acres to graze and grain 24/7. I would have been happier if they'd went for milkers but At least i know they're going to be well taken care of. And the guy didn't have a problem at all with finishing Bella's eye medication until her ulcers are fully healed. I am pretty happy :)

Now back to digging that broken straight pin out of the sewing machine!

Glad things went well with the heifer calves.

As for the sewing machine be sure not to use a magnet near the machine. DW did and ruined her Elna. After just paying to have it fixed too!

Rancher it is my after school club at the school I teach at. I use quilting, sewing, and crochet to teach math and work on fine motor skills. It gives the kids a safe place until parents are home from work, they get to donate to charities and have had a great time participating in some of the swaps. We got a book in a donation bag that has geometric granny patterns and we thought it would be fun to have a swap of our own.

LOL I incorporate math into everything! This will be a blast if we get people to enter it. I was thinking of having sign ups until January 1, then have them due the first week of march. That way it gives us 3 months to work on it and if someone wanted to do another granny swap at the same time there would be plenty of time and leeway for it.

It sounds great. I was wondering whether you'd incorporate math teaching into this & thought it a good opportunity to do so. I'm up for making as many items as I can as a donor, not a recipient this time. I'll be looking for the thread.

Sounds like a fun way to stretch some crocheting, math, and creativity muscles.

sebocat... I am so sorry to hear about your chicken. I am by no means speaking from experience (as I am not a chicken owner) but it sounds like you went above and beyond in your attempt to get her back to health.

Thank you for all the kind words on my scarf/headband set... someone asked about an Etsy shop... yes, I have one but do not currently have anything in there. I have been working on custom orders, SWAPs, and (secret Santa) gifts that have kept me very busy. I have this SWAP and another with baby yarn both due at the end of the week so I have been alternating between the two to get them complete.

This is the latest square...

Definitely laid off the leaves on this one. I really like how this one came out and am going to try to do this pattern for the last few I have.

I also just completed a kitchen set for my secret pal in a facebook group. It is a dish towel, a scrubby dish cloth and a pot lid grabber hat. The pot lid grabber is brilliant! I found the pattern online somewhere and saved it to try and I am really pleased with how it came out. It truly looks like a little hat that fits over your pot lid handles so when you grab them... no burns!
