Hopefully in the next couple years out with the fireplace and in with the woodstove. First part of the project is Sharon letting me in the house with a chainsaw.

She is nervous about that idea for some strange reason.

Just had the stovepipe to our soapstone stove cleaned this weekend and like you, Cynthia, are in the never-ending process of collecting/cutting/splitting our fuel for the winter as well!! That wood sure warms you several times........when you cut it, when you split it, when you haul it in to burn and then again when you burn it! I love it and the small electric bills though!

Had the chimney & fireplace cleaned about 10 days ago. We unloaded a 16 foot trailer of wood (stacked 3 foot high for most of the trailer though a bit at the front & back was only 2.5 foot high) yesterday & have it mostly stacked out of the weather (a bit more to stack tomorrow).

Firebox is being tuckpointed, painted with heat resistant paint, and a new damper installed on Thursday.

And, of course, while it's been quite cold the last three nights, right about the time it's finished it will be warm again!

Looking forward to a nice fire in the fireplace.
