Fall Quilt Block Swap due October 15th

I am going tomorrow to pick out my material for this swap, any idea from those of you who have already started how much I will need of the Blue and of the yellow? Want to be sure to get enough for 16 blocks, also, I scanned all of the pages to be sure these blocks will be 12/5 X 12.5 when finished, am I correct, I didn't actually see it anywhere. Thanks abunch.
I would get a 2 yards each, I had to go back for more fabric at getting only 1 yard each, a yard makes about half of the blocks. I really have not measured

If it wouldn't be an inconvenience then yes, I now have plenty of time to do this swap with yall if you'll have me back:) Thank you so much.. I should be finished with the other swap tomorrow and will look for fabrics to start this one. Will the pattern for the next one be free choice or a vote?

MynikaFL yes you are correct on block size

Just thought I would share with you ladies...

The green/white spring swap... I just realized yesterday that I could quickly put them together and make a quilt for my son who's birthday we're celebrating next Sunday. I had several blocks that I never sent in because for whatever reason, they didn't measure up so I took the center seam out to make a border.

What do you think?

Ok, you have to tip your head to the right to see it right side up. I don't know how to rotate pictures on here.

I need to go to the store and get some more thread, the backing material and the innards. Maybe a pillow form too as I have two of the other blocks left. Actually, I think I'll separate the last two blocks and make a custom pillow case.

QUESTION: Around the outside, I should probably add a 2-1/2" border just like what is between the blocks so it will look balanced. Correct? Then my binding, I'm thinking might be a brighter green? How's that sound?

We were yacking on here a week or so ago and someone mentioned the Attic Windows block and I said I would post a picture of my daughter's first quilt, done for 4H and was an attic windows lap quilt. Ok, do the tip.

She only "fussy cut" about a dozen or so of the birds and left the rest of them random. I don't know if you can see it and it was unintentional but it APPEARS, looking at the birch bark in the bird print that there is a tree growing up from the bottom, almost in the middle and then branching out. Its kind of hard to see it in this photo but in person, it looks like we planned it that way! She did an excellent job for her first quilt.

Lacy Blues, love the green and white, and that would be a wonderful B-day gift. and I do see the tree branch in the other quilt, such a wonderful job.

Very pretty. Here is my .02 cents, I think if you put the same sashing on the outside of the "border star blocks" same as the inside blocks you lose the border effect, and it looks like a mistake, 1/2 blocks in the wrong direction rather then the border they are intended as, if that makes sense.
