Kat- Fons and Porter! Quick tips for 'easy' mitered corners is in the magazine and on the website. I can't swear by any tips and tricks because mine hardly ever come out perfect like the t.v. either:) I understand it and the concept of it but having it turn out perfect? Well....no one knows until you point it out! Lol

How can fabric that is meticulously measured, and meticulously cut, and meticulously sewn, and pressed at every seam come out so wonky???????!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the tip, and they could become Christmas something or others. Yeah I think I will do that. At the farmers market it really seems more of a flea market, but anyway I got a bunch of blue jeans for .50 cents. so my son's jean rag quilt is getting closer to getting started. I just want you to know that having two 3 month old kittens in the house is quite a challenge when you are trying to sew. One was trying to eat my box of pins and the other decided to take over my ironing board, I managed to get one whole block done. They were just going crazy they were into everything and trying to climb the walls. but kitties are so funny especially when they do the sideways dance and puff up. they think they are sooo tuff

kadsdar, I'm trying to make a jean quilt and so I got some squares off of eBay. lol they are five inch squares and then I was thinking. OH MY goodness these will only be 4.5" if I use them. I think I'm going to more yard sales I haven't been to any all summer. I hope I get a good deal like yours.

I cut my jean squares at 6 inches, and used I think it was 110 lots of snipping, tip when washing for the first time to rag it out, take it to the laundry mat save yourself the string mess in your washer. Goodwill has cheap jeans too, that was my sons suggestion when I asked him to send me his old jeans. Will you incorporate pockets into your quilt? I picked up some little size jeans the pockets are better to use, and I like them to have buttons or snaps,

Someone asked if it was worth keeping the extra cut off triangles from the flying geese. I have kept them and sewed them together into blue/yellow 1/2 square triangles. I have putzed w/ some of them making tiny 1/4 square triangle, but have 110 left that make about a 2.25 square when trimmed up. Enough to form the foundation of a cool baby quilt w/ a little pink and green added, or some accent pieces to a blue/yellow project. or sashing for a smaller project.
