Fall Quilt Block Swap due October 15th

We've been quiet. We must be sewing little bees. I had to give my broody hen more eggs today, I thought my neighbor( which he sometimes does) was taking my eggs, I don't care unless I have them marked for the hen to hatch. Anyway it was not my neighbor but a 3 foot king snake, yesterday the hens went nuts and I checked the hen house and didn't see anything and I went out a little early today and saw the tail as it was sliding into a nook. He/she was very well hidden, it really scares me to think how many times my head and hands were well with in striking distance. I don't think it lived in the house just came for breakfast/lunch and dinner. I'm glad it was a non poisonous snake. I hated to kill it but it was after my hatching eggs. I go pick up some pallets Friday that I'm going to turn into a new hen house and I'm going to make sure this one is snake proof. After the picking up of the pallets I am going to reward my self and go to Hancock fabrics and see what falls into my buggy.

If I had known what was going to happen this week I would have stayed in:-( Sorry to have put you in a spot Kat. I'll follow along with this one and watch for the next one.

All this chatter about the NEXT block swap... I had to go to the store to get more of one of my fabrics for this swap when I spotted a lovely dark sage green fabric and there wasn't much of it left so I HAD to get it y'know. I decided I might as well pick the other fabrics to go with it while I was there so I did that too! I can tell you I'm looking forward to the next swap! No triangles?

Here's a pic...

And here are my current swap blocks. I'm making half of each color scheme...

Cknldy, please join us again! There's room for you.

Just to let everyone know, I started attending a quilting group through my church and I took all the previous swaps I've been in... blue/white winter block swap, chicken fall block swap and the green/white spring block swap. They all seemed genuinely interested and excited about this venture. I can't make any promises, but perhaps in the future we may have a few more quilting swappers to join us.

Lacy Blues love the fabric and your blocks how pretty, I'm going to go and pick up some fabric today too. So we will see what we come up with. Yes no triangles I'm looking forward to that one too, we have had a lot of them. Yeah on your recruiting techniques, you did tell them they don't have to have chickens but it helps

I am going tomorrow to pick out my material for this swap, any idea from those of you who have already started how much I will need of the Blue and of the yellow? Want to be sure to get enough for 16 blocks, also, I scanned all of the pages to be sure these blocks will be 12/5 X 12.5 when finished, am I correct, I didn't actually see it anywhere. Thanks abunch.

I think I have about 5 finished and all the rest about 1/2 finished.

Lacy pretty blocks, like how you did opposites. The rose print looks very English garden.

Lotsochicks, look at you go 10 finished!!!!

Mynika, sorry I didn't pay attention to how much yardage.

You have been busy, I'm only half way done, but then I had to go get more fabric.

I haven't worked out all the details on the next swap, but the colors that Lacy Blue picked out are perfect, if we all stayed with the sage greens and the pink floral type and the cream I think that is going to make a very pretty quilt. Give me a couple of days and will post the link to the next swap
