Fall Quilt Block Swap due October 15th

I'm so glad I came on here today I was thinking the blocks were due this month. I'm in so much pain my fingers hurt as I'm typing this. OHGoodness, I took some pills and I'm waiting for them to kick in. I have a quilt I've been trying to work on and it's due Thursday at my quilting guild. So after Thursday I will get this done. Hope everyone is doing great, be back later.

Did you hurt yourself? I hope you get to feeling better soon. Yes you still have lots of time left. Have fun Thursday

littlechicklet instead of pins to hold your sewing together couldn't you use some of the spray stuff just here and there and it would wash out and no worry about pins, just a thought

Speaking of pins- about 9 years ago my nieces grandmother gave her one of those fleece blankets that come in a kit and all you do is sew on the slick binding. About a month after she had been sleeping with it she got poked with a pin that was INSIDE the binding and had been forgotten. It took me a bit to work the pinhead out of the binding without tearing it and her grandmother felt really bad about it. I never would have thought about insurance for that type of thing! I'm always making lists and drawing out patterns since I am more of a visual learner so I just tally the pins as they are put in when making something for kids.

That brings back some memories as a child my mother used to sew my clothes and I can remember getting poked by forgotten pins. Thanks for the memory, course mom would just laugh and say oops I forgot one.

Anybody have ideas for homemade square up ruler? I have the squares done but am looking for a fast way to use rotary cutter without having to draw lines around every square. I don't have any hard clear plastic but thought of doing 3 1/2" cardboard with a straight pin through the center of it and the fabric.

That sounds like the cardboard would work, does your husband do any wood working he could make something for you, and a knob in the middle with a point on the other side (tip of a screw for the place of the pin) that way you could easily pick it up. I still do most of my stuff the long hard way as I'm still new and am building my confidence and the cardboard would not really work for me I am one of those who has to see whats going on underneath even though I know what is going on, sorry not much help here.

How about a plastic lid you could cut to size?

I assume you are squaring up the center, if so can't you use your long clear ruler?
