Fall Quilt Block Swap due October 15th

Earth tones would be very nice! So are you meaning that each person picks what block they want to do or will there be a block that we all do?

We would each submit 12 blocks and we would get back 12 blocks, 6 of one style and 6 of the other, so if we get 12 people then I split you into groups we would get 12 back but not necessarily all the same.

this is what blocks I'm thinking of

if we end up with an odd number of swappers then I would just mix the blocks up so you get back different ones.

Have you played w/ the interaction and secondary patterning of those two? For the log cabin were you thinking the traditional log cabin or some of the ones on the 3rd page?

I love to do the swaps but when a swap is too restrictive on all points leaving a small window of self expression per swapper I sort of get disinterested. I discussed this point with my father's wife; She says there is still a lot of room for individualizing blocks due to so many fabric choices and color hues. Guess she has a valid point :)

@Kassaundra trying to keep it simple, so just the traditional log cabin, but yes I did see the other page makes it interesting.

@Cknldy I see your point, I just thought it would be nice to have uniform blocks of the same color pallet, and it is interesting to see who comes up with what colors and how they choose to put them together. Someone could pick a burnt orange, sage green, grey and a blue as long as they are muted and flat the colors will look quite lovely together and don't forget red and charcoal.

@FeyRaine you could put your rail fence in the middle and the log cabins around them and then do a fancy border just one suggestion.

I think I answered everyone

Little Chicklet
They look perfect to me. Where/how are you going to be selling them? I know that the Linus quilt reps have some insurance to cover the possibility of pins in the quilts that they give away. That may be a consideration for you if you sell these. The set you have made is so pretty.

Katz, why don't you send in your Mum's name to the Alzheimer's quilt people. I emailed them with my Mum's name and where she came from (England) because most of the names will be assumed to be from the States. I was sent a lovely email in reply. Then you know that your Mum can never be forgotten.
Thank you. I am not sure as to where/how I am going to sell them. So far its word of mouth. I like the pin insurance idea.

I think they are just wonderful and should sell like hot cakes.
Thank you. I am not looking to get rich but enjoy making them and I don't have any grandchildren or nieces/nephews.

Littlechicklet there are openings still in this swap and in the Nov 15th swap. I don't have you down for either one.
I think I have too many irons in the fire at the moment. lol I will check and see what you have going in future swaps. thanks

littlechicklet sounds like a plan and keep in touch, have you thought of etsy.com to sell your baby items? many who are on here have opened up accounts on there.

I am thinking of trying Etsy. thanks And when you start the thread on this one I may want to get in on it to try my skills with the sewing machine. thanks

I'm so glad I came on here today I was thinking the blocks were due this month. I'm in so much pain my fingers hurt as I'm typing this. OHGoodness, I took some pills and I'm waiting for them to kick in. I have a quilt I've been trying to work on and it's due Thursday at my quilting guild. So after Thursday I will get this done. Hope everyone is doing great, be back later.
