Fall Quilt Block Swap due October 15th

Welcome cathiesue! Nice to have you. Be sure and check the first page for rules and for the block we're doing. "Solitaire" is the name of the block, you'll find the link on the first page, just scroll down a few posts. Colors are blue and yellow and you put them together however you like.

Thought I'd just share that I got my fabrics all cut up last night. Hope I didn't make any mistakes this time. and that it goes together well and quickly.

Woo Hoo Cathiesue, glad you found it.

Lacy, I'm worried about the same thing, since I'm doing every square one step at a time, at the end I'll either have 16 correct squares or 16 I have to re-do! lol I think I am roughly half done w/ all the squares, but I'm trying to get them finished very early since right now w/ the temps at or near 100 the garden (except watering ) is slow, I'm hoping to keep everything alive through the summer and to be really busy during the fall.

Thank you ladies for the compliments on my block, only 14 more to go!!!

Cathiesue welcome, I will add you and just remember when you are ready to send your blocks you PM me for my address and don't forget the SASE so I can mail blocks back to you. any questions I'm here just ask!!! I take it Sue is your middle name? Mine too

I have been cutting and doing each block as I go, so I don't have miss cuts, I hate miss cuts, Question for you ladies?

what do you do with the geese cliping the little triangle that you end up with or do you not cut to a 1/4" seam and just leave it? Guess it is too small to keep I just throw it away, but me being me it seems like a waste,

I'm afraid I was raised by a depression era Granny (my husband's pet title for her, she used to pretend to be offended but loved it that he gave her a special title) anyway I have been sewing them together to form another 1/2 square triangle for another project, or as a complimentary project for the blanket I will make out of the swap blocks. Leaving them whole and attatched to the block would probably work unless there are any hand quilters in the group, doubt they would like the extra layers.

Thanks for the compliment, and I guess there is a little orange in it, but it does have yellows and I just couldn't pass it up. glad you all like the colors it is really prettier in real life.

Hey everyone, Hi. I've been sewing apparel for a while so my cotton stash was lacking in any suitable cottons. Shopping! Go a couple of cute fabrics in out theme colors and a few pastels for baby dresses. For my granddaughter.

Some of you have mentioned Connecting Threads as a resource for fabric. I've not ordered from them but have had wonderful service and great products from their sister company KnitPicks. Yarn is another one of my addictions. But, just like with chickens some just don't' count.like sock yarn doesn't count. Ditto for anything you already have in your stash and are buying more of. Also anything that you bought before you last birthday doesn't count. See how it goes?

Anyway, katsdar, yes sue is my middle name. I'm just that country! And about that extra little bit off the flying goose. You just can't avoid it. That is the best method for sewing those little boogers. Way too many bias edges to do it any other way.

Happy to be in the group. I'm going to do a sample block soon and post it for you viewing pleasure.
