Fallen Feathers -A Chicken Roleplay

Mockingbird bobbed her head as she walked over to the ruins of Men, where sweet coconutty hydration fell from the trees in hundreds, assuming the form of deadly bowling balls. Finding a ripe green fruit, Mockingbird began to peck furiously at the thick husk. Ugh, how come they have to be so thick? There has to be a way to break this thing open.
After a minute of angry pecking, the hole in the sticky green husk was little more than a scratch. "Ugh!" Mockingbird tried kicking it, but the nut didn't go anywhere. What good was a fruit that provided sweet, sticky syrup if you couldn't crack it open.
She moved over to one sitting between a couple of rocks, husk broken open, the obvious discard of some larger animal. But it most have been a very wasteful creature, because pools of the sweet liquid were still in the very bottom of the leathery green shell. As the unhindered sunlight compelled her to escape to the meager shade those trees provided, Mockingbird gulped down the sweet liquid. It tasted off, but her thirst caused her to ignore it.
He looked up, hearing Feathers voice. "Erm... I was about to go join them." He muttered. He started walking toward the flock, knowing that if he didn't go join them willingly, Feathers would make him.
"Mhm," Feathers said making an example of herself by slowly walking back in the direction of the flock.

Climate puffed himself up and closed his eyes, making himself completely vulnerable to predators and small tripping hazards. He tripped first on a bantam, and then on its legs. Oh, it's that feather-brained little Agate again, he thought, completely ignoring the fact that Agate was years his senior.
Even though it was mostly Climax's fault, this was a perfect opportunity to be disagreeable.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" he fumed, fluffing his feathers, not feeling one bit sorry for the other rooster, who was probably much more injured.

Amber cast Mongoose a little fierce glare and scampered after the two roosters, doing her best to catch up. She froze for a second to listen for them and thought she heard voices up ahead, so she plunged on, the shadows cast by the rising sun on the undergrowth frightening her whenever a warm breeze stirred the plants.
Turtle realized it had been quiet for a while, too quiet. He kept getting the eerie feeling that something was stalking him, and he glanced at every shadow, beam of sunlight, and stirring insect.
Turtle suddenly saw the shape of something illuminated by the sun that eagerly rushed through a break in the dense trees. "Aahh!!!" he yelped, jumping a foot in the air. He noticed then that it was the shape of a hen, a very pretty hen who adorably had no idea whatsoever how much she was admired by at least one awkwardly tall young rooster.
"You scared me," Turtle accused, but not in an unfriendly way. He smiled with his eyes and not his short, parrotlike beak.

“Aahhh!” Turtle’s yell frightened her, causing her to hop into the air and fluff up her feathers before she realized who it was. “Sorry!” She panted, squinting up at him through the morning sun that was beaming into her eyes. “I had a little bit of trouble catching up. Not a very good tracker, you know?” She returned his smile before turning and peering above the ferns, trying to see ahead of them as best she could.

"Yeah, me neither," Turtle couldn't think of a more honest reply. He also couldn't think of one that was less impressive. "Not seeing a lot of water on these first steps in," he said. It may have been his goal, but he sounded overly passive, and his speech was awfully high and insincere sounding. A rustle in the bushes startled him. I should have been looking, he thought. Now he wouldn't know the identity of the mystery creature that was about to jump out at him. Get a grip, Turtle, he told himself.

“I guess we’ll just have to keep looking.” She said, a hint of tiredness creeping into her voice. “Isn’t the water all the way over by the volcano? It may be a small island, but that’s a pretty inconvenient distance. You never know though, maybe we’ll find some undiscovered water that’s closer.”
