Fall's here..........

A Happy, Frisky Fall to You-All, my FAV season, too! Getting coops ready for winter, heating the greenhouse to finish up the tomaters, potaters, strawberries and the geese & ducks are splashing in the water as happily as if winter would never take their favorite past time away...chickens are feathering thickly and healthy, too
Losing 5 minutes a day of sunshine and how beautiful is this tundra?

I hung up Indian corn on our porch light yesterday, and got out the apple cinnamon housewarming candles (my personal fave). I anticipate crisp mornings, an earthy scent on the air, the colors of the changing leaves, warm, colorful sweaters, baking yummy things in the oven (like pumpkin bread) and seeing new birds at our feeders. Later on this week, I'll get cornstalks and prop them up in our front garden. October 1 will be the day I get the Hallowe'en lights out (yes, Hallowe'en lights)..

I just wish I could be like a bear and snuggle up in sleep for the next 7 months. Fall means it will soon be too cold to keep riding my bike to work, and I'll have to go back to lonely workouts in my living room.... and dreaming of summer.

Fall IS my favorite time of the year. Less mowing & maintaining the yard. This year will be very special for me because my DH, 3 kids and I will be going to Colorado to really enjoy the fall! I have never been there and sooo look forward to it! It will be during the Elk Fest.

I agree with it sneaking up on us this year, it's been chilly the past week. I really need to get that woodstove in here! Tick tock...

Now I know for sure, this is my LAST hatch of the year.

Fall is by far my favorite season though.

I LOVE Fall because of:
- Hunting

- Football

- Cool nights with the windows open

- Seeing my breath in the morning

- Working without sweating like crazy

- Canning the garden

It all makes me very happy!
