Family Chicken Breeds

Sorry if this has already been posted I searched and didn't find anything. What are your favorite docile family chicken breeds? We are starting our homestead journey and have 2 small children who will be around our chickens daily. Just trying to get an idea of the friendlier breeds.

Howdy!!! You'll get lots of different opinions on this one because everyone is partial to their own favorite breed/breeds

I have small kids, and our favorites for them, that like to be handled and held, are sexlinks, Cochins and silkies. The red and black sex links are extremely docile, but more likely to burn out on egg laying at a younger age. The Cochins and silkies are hilarious and docile. There are bantam (small) versions of each, and my kids adore them. Just remember with smaller chickens come smaller eggs.

Most docile breeds Ive found are: brahma, faverolles, cochin, orpingtons, and Ive heard silkies altho Ive never had them.
