Farm chatter

The Speckled one looks like an Icelandic Chicken. It's a Landrace "breed".

Similar to an EE, but don't lay random colored eggs.

They're super hardy in both cold, & hot climates, & have the largest amount of genetic diversity then other chickens.

The black one might be also, but not sure, cuz they can look different, but most often have a crest.
Ooh! I didn't think about icelandics! Those are really pretty.

Oh my gosh, you're so right! I think they both are too. How did I forget about those?!?! They're on my chicken wish list! I guess I just didn't think of them since they vary so much. I love Icelandics. That's awesome if they are, I think they're pretty rare.

Me neither! I totally forgot they are a thing. That's why I called on Mystery, lol.

They are rare, but can be found if you're looking in the right places.

Awesome. If I ever find any I'll snatch them up like a skunk snatches up chicks. Just kidding!!!

Mark Anthony, the peacock. (yes that is food for the peacocks, not random dog food or something lol)

One of the older chickens. I'm not sure on breed-going to make a seperate thread on that.

Ditto for this one, but she's gorgeous!

A poor GL wyandotte. She's one of the ones in the same group as Coco. Does not appreciate cuddles as much as Coco does.

Weird imported bush thing. Apparently they have little white flowers all over them in the spring.

Oreo the sheepie.
I love those peafowl! They are gorgeous! Oreo is adorable.

The speckled hen is a swedish flower. A landrace similar to the Icelandic, but from Sweden. They are commonly found in the speckeled patteren, and are supposed to look like a field of flowers, giving them the name swedish flower. They commonly have a crest. They are sold by a couple of major hatcheries, unlike Icelandics which are really rare.

What comb type does the black one have? She could be another swedish flower, which occasionally come in black, but she looks more like a polish mix. If she has a single comb, likely another swedish flower.

No idea on comb type for the second one. I'll check today.
