How often do they want to sit? Is it just like as if a chicken went broody?View attachment 2516751they sleep high in da trees
but I do lose hens on nests to coyotes or whatever so I want to do breeding pens this year. & because I want my black shouldered Male to father all the babens
I do tend to lock up moms with babies if I can manage it
they actually have a season. the boys grow out their pretty feathers and dance to impress the ladies & then the ladies lay and sit eggs. once a year. How often do they want to sit? Is it just like as if a chicken went broody?
kye - oh - teedo you guys say "KYE-OH-TEE" or "KYE-OHTE"
Do they need to hatch? Or will they lay there whether or not there are eggs like a broody?they actually have a season. the boys grow out their pretty feathers and dance to impress the ladies & then the ladies lay and sit eggs. once a year.
that I don't know. 100% free range means you have no idea where they're laying xD. they either turn up with babies, turn up dead or are never seen again.Do they need to hatch? Or will they lay there whether or not there are eggs like a broody?
Hmm... how many did you start with, and how many do you currently have? (roughly, I know you probably don't have exact amounts.) Have they reproduced and grown in numbers a significant amount?that I don't know. 100% free range means you have no idea where they're laying xD. they either turn up with babies, turn up dead or are never seen again.
