Well, I swore I wasn't going to hatch winter chicks but I turned on an incubator because I was so excited to get some Sebastopol goose eggs and there was a chain reaction and I now have 2 incubators running.

Well, it all started with the Sebastopol goose eggs arriving in the mail yesterday and then I took my sweet rooster to my friend's house because he was crowing like a lunatic today and I didn't want to take any chances and upset the grumpy old man across the street since we aren't technically supposed to have roosters in this neighborhood.

In exchange for giving our rooster a good home, my friend asked me to take a few Serama eggs her broody hen was sitting on because she didn't want to deal with winter chicks either. I couldn't say no because she was kind enough to take my rooster. Plus her Serama hen is REALLY pretty! Those eggs could hatch any day now, lol.

THEN my husband said we should see if our rooster was fertilizing any of our eggs...so now I have another incubator running, I pulled a bunch of eggs out of the fridge for the experiment aaaaand I'm about to have a bunch of chicks. lol
