The best time to get any dog is when you have time at home, to help them transition into the environment, so the best time to do this is spring break, winter break, summer break, etc. If your parents work close to home, for an adult dog and the majority of the dog's life, if you get a low energy dog you'll need to go home around lunchtime to give the dog a walk, or pay someone to do it, and everything else happens not during a work day. I think that if you find a well trained rescue adult that has moderate-low energy, you'd be fine as long as you know how to manage things.

I was asking because you're in CT and I realllly want this one dog to get adopted (but you guys wouldn't be the right fit for him)
Hmm, my parents don't work too close to home but maybe we could hire someone? Thanks!

Yeah I saw him! He is so cute and I want him so bad, but I know he wouldn't be right. ❤️ :(
