It is nice that they're so close, but I wish they would still let us pick them up straight at the hatchery. One of the guys at the hatchery explained it. Pretty much it's for biosecurity, not wanting to have to through out a hatch. But yet, I think they will be allowing pickup of started pullets... maybe they just don't want anyone tracking anything into the actual hatchery?
 
I don't know if this helps but when I pick some of them up, including this one, I fell little bumps on the bottome fluffy part of the chicken.
Like what kind of bumps? Could you be feeling the feather follicles? Like chicken skin?:D
 
Mine *could* arrive tomorrow too!! Probably Thursday but we’ll see. My tracker says they’re still in Kansas city but perhaps it just isn’t being updated.
