Farm chatter

I request a video of this magical swimmer. Have someone else let them out and film while you call to them with treats from the other side of the pool?
I don’t think Joy’s in any shape to do that again :lau She’s molting AND this was before the EYP so she’s just going to take the long way. Chickens are also really good problem solvers and learn from experiences. She probably wouldn't do it again since she will remember what happened the first time.

I really wish I did have a video though, it was hilarious, she was wet for a while after to :lau

If it didn’t have me in it, I would show you the video of the time I chased Jokgu around the yard, in order to herd her towards the coop again. It was very chaotic :lau

We had a golden for years........he lived until 18 until his body just started shutting down. No cancer with him, just old age. He was super sweet. What's dysplasia? What counts as a sporting breed? Can you tell I know nothing about dogs?
Sorry about your dog! That’s an amazingly long life though! Wow!! 😱😱 I think cancer is more common with certain lines but I’m not sure.

Here is an article on dysplasia. It’s basically a joint disorder though that can cause a lot of pain. They don’t fit together right.

And I was meaning the sporting group of breeds with the AKC like gundogs 😊

Here’s the breed list. Might have to hit load more though. Mostly like spaniels, retrievers, pointers, etc. and a few others

And that’s okay!! Everybody starts somewhere!!!

That’s awesome! 😂🤣 nice to know I have apprentices now LOL I’m turning into @Sapphire Sebright gathering apprentices 😂🤣 I thought @EverythingDucks was a mini me too for a while but somebody already claimed her 😂😜😭
I've had my ears pierced for years, but that wasn't an awful experience because it was so quick. I feel like a tattoo would be worse because it takes much longer (even a small one). I'm generally- not afraid, that's not the right word- but I try to avoid pain whenever possible, as I have a low pain tolerance. I've started trying to build it up by ripping off band aids instead of waiting for them to come off.
What the heck did I just walk in on?

Personally, I think that tattoos are kind of risky. First of all, they're pretty much permanent. I think that they can be removed, kind of, but it's probably just as expensive as getting the thing in the first place -- and they aren't cheap.
This leads me to second of all -- they're expensive. And painful. Depending on what you want, it can take several trips to the tattooist, too, because they can't do too much at once -- the skin needs to heal in between.
Third of all, they change with age. Your skin stretches and will eventually thin and wrinkle -- this can distort what was a previously great-looking picture.
Think long and hard about it -- most piercings can heal up and disappear just fine, but the flesh that's affected by tattooing doesn't slough off like the top layer of skin. They last a long time -- be absolutely positive that you want it.
Just my two cents.

we used to not have grass around our pool, so this summer we put down hay and grass and things so some would grow. The thing is, the grass was mainly not growing on the side of the pool OPPOSITE the coop, so when the girls went out to play and free rang, they discovered the goodies quickly- you know grass seed, hay... the stuff they WEREN’T supposed to eat- and they made it a race to be the first one there. Since in Joy’s mind, going AROUND the pool took to long, she decided to go OVER it.... She was only able to fly about halfway, before she landed right in the pool AND CONTINUED TO SWIM TO THE OTHER SIDE LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED! She Did actually make it to the other side first, and happily ate her forbidden grass seed like everything was normal :lau

That's why we're giving it 20 years to think about ;) These are all very good points. I would never get a large scale one like @jwehl 's beautiful horse- I don't have the guts, the pain tolerance, or the decisiveness to do that. It would almost definitely be something really small, in writing (possibly each other's handwriting) on the inside of my arm. No high pain spots (wrist, collarbone etc) and nothing super noticeable.

Joy is 3 but qualifys for an old lady.

I have my own selection of Joy’s Death Stare Pics, but this one is the best since it was right before I gave her, her meds (which where given with a syringe down the throat. She HATED it)
