Nope!

I've just always heard that chickens tend to stick with their own breed in a mixed flock so I assumed they needed a same breed friend.

I have a mixed flock, and my birds all free range in the groups they were raised in.

Me to. They don’t notice. I’ve seen ducks that were raised with geese, but don’t know they’re different!

I checked the barn and we have lots of scrap wood. That’s good for building a duck house. There are still things we need to buy though. I found like... a huge stack of shingles so maybe we could use them too

Not really. My flock is mixed and they stick to the groups they were raised in. They don’t seem to notice
