What's the point of New Years then?

I don’t think you understand. Every 365 days, the earth completes this orbit. Seasons are a result of the earths location on its orbital path. Every year is 365 days. On January 1st we begin the cycle over again. You cannot say a child who has been on the earth for 6 months, or travelled only half of the earths full orbit, is a year old because it is not true.

I am going to sell 4 of my young peacocks

but I have to catch them and keep them penned up which they dont enjoy


ah, yes so you are thinking of years starting from new years

but she was born in july so she missed out on 7 months of that year, so she'll have to go 7 months past new years to get to her birthday and gain a year into her age.

if someone was born on new years day, you'd be right, though.

Peacocks are vocal though so Even in the rare event I can take peafowl, could only get hens.

she is 2.5 years old
she was born in July 2018, turned 1 on july 2019, 2 on july 2020 and this year on july 2021 she will turn 3. so she 2. or more specifically, 2.5

so basically thsi year on July she will be three years, if that makes sense

What's the point of New Years then?

New years marks a full year from January 1 to January 1, which is a full 365 days. If you wanted to celebrate New Years in July, you could do that, too. It just marks the same day one year to the same day 365 days later.
