Mine do the same.... with time, you can actually train them. My poodle was once horrible with cats. Now she is much better. A water gun does wonders.

My parents trained both of my/their past dogs themselves and both dogs were completely fine with cats

naw my dogs just love cats. Especially deacon, who HATES dogs. cats dont try and play with him, or get up in his buisness. They just want something warm to cuddle with
