Farm chatter

Ponies and minis are the most work. Their hooves and teeth seem to need more maintenance. They also are usually higher risk for founder, so need to be monitored when sugar content is up.

That being said, drafts sometimes have a proclivity to IR too. Usually more common when older though. Some farriers will charge extra for a draft, because trimming is more work and because they are more dangerous to work with if they are unruly. Drafts do eat more, yes.

I'm not sure what the original argument here is/was, but if I had to pick between pony/mini or draft, I'd pick draft all day every day.
If it's an argument between drafts and light horses, I still love a giant. However, light horses are a bit less work/expense.

Wow very interesting! Thanks! So seems Jade was right :hide whoops :hide this was the original thing btw haha

I’ve also pondered having Clydesdales.
Clydesdales have a lot of work involved, you should look into gypsy Vanners.

No I meant food, grooming and money lol. Drafts have amazing temperaments.
Ohhhhh okay. I don’t know if I’d call that work or what is call it LOL maybe more expense and time I guess? Idk hah

I'm so confused.
We were talking about fantasy farms (normal kids have fantasy football teams, we have fantasy farms lol) and I mentioned how I love horses but don't see myself being able to manage them. Then other people mentioned how they liked clydesdales, but Jade said that they were a lot of work, and Dawg countered that, and then you came and confirmed what Jade said.

I feed mine eggs all the time and they’ve never egg eaten. Besides, wouldn’t the shell cause it more since it looks the most like an egg? As opposed to the insides and maybe no shell then they wouldn’t know where it came from.
When they eat an egg the recognize it later. So when they accidentally break their own they’ll know it’s food and want to eat it. Thus breaking all the eggs to eat them.
