Oooooops, didn't mean to post that pic of the new little goatie in his pj's....haha...

I started leash training yesterday. It went petty good.

Champ started his training, too! Champ is his papered name and I'm going with it for now anyway.

Oliver is a very beautiful rooster! I could use some of them! I see most hatcheries don't carry them. I'm getting ready to make a meatbird chick order well in advance for this fall and may add some other things to it....

. Well, so far you've escaped having to go live in a van down by the river....lol...hopefully adding doves doesn't get you there....

. Doves would be neat! I'm still trying to add mini donkeys and a llama to my critters this year...looking for the right ones at the right price. Great photos of Petunia! She looks like a very neat, happy, well cared for little pig! Funny how much pigs can be like dogs....I feel like they are anyway. Mine are always so happy to see me and love being scratched and follow me around and love to play...just like my dogs....

That little goat is beautiful! I love his color. Very cute. And so is Champ. I think that's a good name.

I've never ordered birds from hatcheries. Mostly because the quality of birds you get from a hatchery isn't up to the SOP for each breed and silly me like to show and eventually breed my birds. lol I try to get my birds from breeders. I don't know what hatchery you usually order from but I know McMurray has buff and white Orpingtons. Cackle Hatchery has buffs. Meyer has buffs, blues, blacks, lavenders and even jubilees. I was looking at the pictures of Meyer's Orpingtons, they all look to be very poor quality if you compare them to the SOP. For pets and egg layers, who cares what they look like!

Someday I'll go back to my dove project. lol I think they would be great to have here on the farm. Right now just isn't the right time to add more animals to the crew, I don't think. We're trying to raise 1.5 million dollars to buy the property.

Anyone got some extra change to donate? lol It's tough...

WOW!!! Those are some wonderful shots.
Is that diving bird a Brown Pelican???
Yep! They were constantly flying over in little groups. To find where the fish are, we always follow the pelicans. The areas in the surf where they frequent the most are where the fish are usually biting the most. They're such huge, heavy birds, it's amazing they're able to fly.

Those are great shots! I like the group flying together, but the first picture is my favorite of them all.

I'm finally caught up on this thread! The Easter Hatch kept me busy and I didn't have time to check in here. Wonderful pictures everyone! I love the pelican shots, the piglet pictures and all the wild bird/insect pictures.

I've taken a few random pictures over the past few weeks, but they are not nearly as good as all of yours.

One of my roses.

My bees storing some honey for me!

Grape blossoms.

Blueberries maturing.

Kelly beautiful rose - pullet or cockerel?? Just kidding. What is it's name? Is it fragrant?

I love the grape picture I never realized grapes are so tiny at birth and inflate, I suppose until they are picked. Neat !

I don't know the name of the rose off hand, but yes, it's fragrant. Only my yellow rose has no fragrance.

The grapes are red table grapes. They flower, then set grapes. I need to get another picture of them now that they have little balls on them.
