Haha, that big chick is the Blue Orp! The blue Orp is a LF and I think it is two weeks old?? Maybe three! And the Chocolates were hatched out two days ago! And those are bantams, thats why they are so tiny!

Ah, I see. haha!

Very beautiful hen! We have some mutts of our own here at the farm. They're called the Golden Girls.

The original four were named after the four characters, of course. This was several years back. And of course they were all buff....and still are. lol We just had 2 chicks hatch early this morning. I checked a couple hours ago and there were 3 or 4 others that had zipped. The boss has the incubator in her house, I'll go take a peek tomorrow morning to see what else came out.

There might be a Polish or two. One Easter Egger and some Silkie eggs. The four eggs one of our Silkies is sitting on, those should hatch Friday or Saturday. She has one Polish, one EE and two Silkie and/or Cochin eggs. We'll have chicks of all kinds this year!

Too bad we can't keep them all. lol

Thanks! I like watching her! Golden Girls...lol. I need to name a hen Blanch...lol. That's exciting onthe chicks hatching! I can't wait to experience that! I feel I have enough of a handle on all that I have been researching and am researching incubating and raising pigs now....

. It does sound like you will have all kinds of chicks. You can keep them all!...that's what you're suppose to do if you are a true addict....

. Ending up living in a van down by the river sometimes comes with chicken math though I hear....lol. Is your new bator ironed out and heating eggs?

They're getting so big!

The third picture from top is my favorite.

Yeah, that's what's going to happen to me if I keep all the chicks!! I'll be living under a bridge with my 4 cats and a gazillion chickens, because I'll get kicked out of my little house and the farm will fire me for hoarding chickens.

Yup, the new bator is running and I moved my Silkie eggs in there. I started them in the styrofoam incubator that belongs to the farm. About 2 weeks left to go!
Here it is, in all it's glory!

Our first chicks hatched yesterday! Haven't had a chance to take pictures yet, the boss has them in her house. I'll have to go snoop later. lol There are 2 blue Silkies, 2 buffs and another 2 or 3 darker ones. They must be out of the RIR girls. Father to all of them is a New Hampshire Red. All but the Silkies of course. I can't wait to see what kind of surprises I'll get Friday/Saturday out of the eggs under our Silkie.
