I like Lionhead rabbits! They are adorable!


Plus they'd fit right in with your silkies!

The lionheads are beautiful but with all that fur, they'd require a bunch of grooming, I would imagine. I don't have enough hours in the day to do that too.

Then again....I like to groom things. And yes, they'd totally fit with the silkie theme.

Thanks! Just getting the rabbit breeding thing going. Seems I always start at the farthest possible place from where I want to be or want to have, then enjoy the ride and learn a ton. That second bunny had an ear that hung down when I first got her. As time passed it started going up and up....lol. I'm just hoping for some spotted bunnies of some sort out of her. She too is real laid back and good to have around. Probably has a little of everything in her.

Speaking of clothing and chorin'....this outfit is for when I really want to feel sexy and really bring it doing chores!!! hahahehehahahehe.

I think I have decided I want a Mini Lop. I've emailed some breeders closest to home, found one breeder that has babies available. Now I just need to learn what to look for, so I'll know I'm getting a good quality rabbit. Any advice?

If your goin to show, buy a standard of perfection book. You can order them online from American rabbit breeders association. Discusses everything just like in chickens. Also helps to buy from a person who shows, not just anyone.

I did find the SOP book for rabbits and plan on buying it if I find a good show rabbit. I contacted a breeder, they've been breeding for 17+ years, they also show.

Maintenance and grooming
If this is one plus point, then the other plus point is that it requires little grooming. Other rabbits with long hair end up with tangled knots in their coat and need lots of careful grooming. But the mane of a Lionhead rabbit does not matt up that easily nor does it get tangled quickly. A little bit of brushing now and then is all it needs to make its coat shine like silk and its lion like mane is really glossy with a satin finish.

I should have known this! I used to have a Ragdoll cat and they're said to have rabbit like fur. They're long haired but I hardly ever had to groom my cat. Once in a blue moon I would find small tangles in his hair, that was it.
I will have to reconsider a Lionhead.

I'm glad I'm not the only one sportin' crazy whatever-I-slept-In clothes when I'm out doing morning chores. All of the sudden I'm not so ashamed of my flip flops and Scooby Doo pj's.

When I lived at my friends house a couple years ago, I used to run around in all kinds of outfits. Being outside in the summer barefoot was my favorite.
