After seeing this Kevin, I think Kevin is a fitting name for our little peacock.

I have a bunch of pics I need to go through, but...

..2 day old calf hiding in the timber...

...and sold my first future breeding boar that I have raised yesterday. I'm going to miss him. 8 weeks old in these pics....weaned at 7 weeks old. I'll probably wait until 10 weeks old at least in the future before selling.

I sure remember that name Muscat, a million years ago my friend Ellen Recknor was an animal portraiture artist. She was commissioned to do a painting of Muscat, and later sent me an issue of an Arabian Horse stud book/magazine. Don't know the right term. She wanted me to see that it was indeed her artwork.

I just googled Ellen to find out what she has been up to, and discovered she passed away in February of this year.

She was 16 and I was 20 when I responded to her ad offering pencil portraits of pets for $ 7.50. That started quite friendship. Eventually she started writing bodice rippers for the romance trade and stopped answering my letters. This was before computers and emails and stuff.

I think she didn't want any reminders of what she used to be - when we were young. She was bigger than life, brilliant, an artist, writer, pianist and more. I never though she could die.

If there is a message in this, please check on old friends before you make discoveries of their passing. I wish she had kept me in the loop. She had stayed at our house often and my parents really enjoyed her- until she moved to Arizonna and never came out here again.
