Farm Related Photography. Pictures are the best Advertisement!

The butterfly is eating a partially rotten apple, if you happened to wonder what that was. The mushy overripe ones on the trees are irresistible to hordes of bumble bees, hornets, and butterflies. I've begun to enjoy photographing insects. It's so much easier to sneak up on a butterfly than it is a wild bird.
I love them all but the horse pics are just SO BEAUtIFUL!!!!! I am a horse freak! Lol! Is the dark chestnut a paso fino or a morab? Lovely build! The dapple is just gourgous!

What kind of fearsome spider is that????

I was asked to open a thread relating to photography. I realize there is probably plenty of threads about this, but I'd like one directed only at photos relating to the farm, homestead or small backyard poultry. I'd also like to have others share their work. Pictures are the best form of advertisement if you ask me. We could do weekly challenges. Example: Capture your birds on the lookout for predators. Another: camouflage Another: Ruffled Feathers We could do: Crowing Hen with chicks: among other things. Just thinking out loud here. :) I'd like to see some of your best shots. I'd like to stay away from camera phones on this thread, as they really don't capture well (unless the picture is from an iPhone - sometimes they do quite well!)
They're wonderful. You've got talent.

AOXA when you start the new thread be sure and give us the link. There are many themes you could have; combs, feet, ears, teeth (just kidding) coloration, etc

The spider is an orb weaver, they make the zig zag in the center of the web, really great to have in the garden.

The butterfly is a comma butterfly named for the silver/ white marking on it's underwing, they eat rotting poop, fruit, and carcass.

They are all beautiful, but these two are my favorite. The lighting is fantastic on both.

Penny is a Morgan, she is 18 years old. She always acts so prim and proper but she is a sweetheart once you get to know her. The dapple is my cousin's horse that she keeps on our pasture, her father was a thoroughbred and her mother was a draft, I believe a Belgian? She is 6 or 7 years old. She is one big girl, she makes Penny look like a pony.

The spider is correct but the butterfly is actually a question mark, very similar to the comma, but has two distinct white markings on the underwing, a swoop and a dot instead of one connected swoop like the comma has. The comma also has three black spots in a row on top of the wing, while the question mark has four.
