Aw I bet! And yeah, that sounds easier anyway and it's not really necessary to have him so tame anyway, right? Plus they cant steal him that way?

Well my Indian Blues are tame to me but they freak out when anyone except me, and my parents go in their pen. Ice was the only one tame with everyone. Peafowl that are tame is beneficial in my opinion. But making them as tame Ice isn't necessary. It's nice and I can educate people on peafowl.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I wasn't saying you shouldn't tame him at all, I was agreeing with you and saying it's not necessary to have him as tame as Ice and easier :)

Oh, ok. Sorry for misunderstanding.

It's okay! I might not have been that clear.

So you never found out what happened to Ice?

I haven't found Ice. I'm guessing Ice was stolen by someone that knows me and my animals very well. I have a few reasons to why I believe he was stolen and that it was someone that was close to me. First, peafowl are social birds. They prefer to be around other birds or animals, especially other peafowl. Ice was with 3 peahens and a pair of Indian Blues as "neighbors", 22 chickens, 2 ducks, and 2 colts that are near his pen. So he had plenty of friends. Another reason is, I owned him for two years. So he knows where home, food, water, and friends are. He should've came back or at least hung around the property because he knows where food and water is, and there are hens that don't have a male with them. He would have had a train this year, so he is able to breed. The reason why I believe it was someone who was close to me for several reasons. First, you can't see my birds from the road and my driveway is an 1/8 of a mile long. The runs are turned away from the road, even with binoculars you wouldn't be able to see the run. So the person would need to know where on the property my peafowl pens are located. Another reason is you would need to know which of my White peafowl was the peacock. The peacock didn't have a train on him yet, so he look similar to the hens. Also all my other birds were left alone, they only took Ice. Ice was the most valuable of them all once he got a train and the person probably knew that as well. My final reason, I have 4 Border Collies and they're not fond of trespassers, and my peafowl coops are just a few yards away from the house and dog houses. My female just had pups so she's a little more protective. So the person had to know the dogs or get attacked by 4 cattle dogs. This is why I believe Ice was stolen by a person that was close to me.

IS there any particular person that you feel may have done this? Are there any non-family workers on your farm? Do you get scheduled deliveries where supplies (?) are
unloaded on your property?

Yeah, I think I remember the story, the whole thing is very fishy :/ cause they knew your schedule right?

But you never found out who specifically or where he was?

I feel like if it was me the not knowing would be the hardest,

Yep. The not knowing what happened and the chance it is someone that was close to me.

I have a one person in my mind. Mainly because he's a drug addict, and he has stolen money from me before. We don't have helpers at our farm other than family and family friends. Delivery people are afraid of our dogs.

If that person is the one who took him, is there no way you could find out if he still has him or sold him somewhere? I mean, Ice was a really good peacock, so you might hear about him through peafowl people you know.
