Farmyard Bizzaro- diary on a crazy farmyard's days (Geese and Chickens)

That is a lot of eggs. I know you let a lot of them hatch out. But how do you know from day to day which eggs the girls are sitting on and not. My brooder had 6 eggs under her, next thing I knew it was 12 because the other hens kept laying. I had to mark mine so they didn't get mixed up. Then we also separated the brooder & gave her a brooder pen.

Aahhh sorry I didn't mean to send that so many times

Which nest is hers if you know
(Out of the four pictured earlier)

None of them, all those are nests that don't have broodies yet!

Yes, I let all of the eggs hatch out, and yes, I mark all of the eggs that belong to broodies! What I do is, when a hen goes broody I leave her alone ( for the day) until it is dark. If she is still sitting on the nest ( and not roosting) then I mark the eggs so that I know which egg belongs to which broody! The hen, somehow, know that the eggs that are not marked are not their eggs and the ones that are marked are theirs!
