fart eggs

Okay, there's a big difference between pullet eggs and wind eggs.
Pullet eggs - tiny eggs with yolk and white; only laid by young birds that just started laying.
Wind eggs - tiny eggs with only a white & no yolk.

So are they pullet eggs or wind eggs?

We will get a tiny fart egg once a month or so from our current flock of 17 hens; 5 EEs and 12 Dominiques. My wife blows out the whites and saves them in a tiny bird's nest. Kind of cute to look at.

finally my hen has overcome her fart egglaying habits

thanks everyone

Sometimes disease causes the fart eggs in older hens. MS/MG can cause it or any other problem that might cause the hen to be a bit off. I hope you hen continues to be ok. Also a hen that has been frightened or food changed etc. can cause her to be off. Hens really are easily set off.

When my hens started laying last year I had one of those itty bitty eggs and one of my friends begged to take it. I am now going to call her up and tell her what they are called. This is the first time I have ever heard that name put to them. Thank you again BYC for new info...
